no digital audio inputs

Panasonic SC-PT650:CNet

The bottom line: Panasonic's budget-priced SC-PT650 home theater system sounds good for the money and delivers a decent roster of features--but the step-up model is an even better deal.
"
petite but powerful subwoofer"
"
The piano was clear and clean, and the acoustic bass' definition was above par."
"
The sound was rich and full, with good satellite-subwoofer integration."
"
terrible real-world performance"
"
We did run the receiver's test tones over the speakers and heard that the center channel speaker was too loud, so we adjusted it down a bit."
"
lackluster 2:3 pulldown performance"
"
quick and easy connections"
"
spotty connectivity suite"
"
The front panel's small buttons and controls are fairly easy to see and use, while the DVD changer mechanism performs smoothly."

optional wireless rear speaker kit

Panasonic SC-PT650 Home Theater System:Audioholics.com

Panasonic has done a good job of producing a clean sound at moderate volume levels and adding some features that make this system fairly attractive. Also included is an iPod dock, remote control, and various speaker cables. The included sub module is fairly small, but adds a nice touch of mid-bass you certainly won't get from your television's speakers. The 5-disc changer is nice for when you want to keep the tunes going and the unit includes an HDMI port for upscaling the video to your HDTV. *

The 6.5” subwoofer and 2.5” satellite drivers deliver booming lows and perfect highs"

Enjoy stunning audio"

"
The SC-PT650's most obvious sonic shortcoming is dynamic range--there isn't much--so all the sounds come out more or less equally loud."
"
lackluster 2:3 pulldown performance"
"
quick and easy connections to any portable audio device"
"
it's universally compatible with anything that has a headphone jack or a line output."
