The range with 6.0 is double the old 2.4mhz cordless phone system. And the ability to buy $30 range extenders (up to two) makes range issues a thing of the past. The new features like Bluetooth pairing with up to two cell phones (only one can be used at a time) is VERY COOL and works well. The only reason this is a 4 star review and not a 5 star review is the instruction manual on this Bluetooth pairing feature is TERRIBLE!!
Easy to set up and great volume control!
We needed a few more handsets to place around the house. Also needed phones with good volume control. We just love everything about these. Setup was simple simple simple! Volume controls are on each handset, in a great place- just above your thumb as you pick up the handset. Each handset has an indicator light, so you can tell in any room if there is a message - AND you can access the message, change the recording, etc.. all from EACH HANDSET.
Excellent Dect 6 system
I purchased this product to replace an older Panasonic Dect 6 system that lacked some features of this model. I selected this product after reading the reviews of others. I am very satisfied with the phone system so far, and glad I made this choice after receiving Consumer Reports magazine yesterday, and noting they rated this product as number one in its category.
Best Phone ever made !
This phone is great! It has a big white back light display on the base station. The base and the handsets can play your phone messages back. You can call the base or other handsets. It also has talking caller ID and you can have the ringers on the handsets turn off automatically when you are sleeping. Your friends and family can have a separate ring tone. Plus the base station will still work when the power goes out. But the most important feature is it blocks phone numbers!
Good phone system for a small business, with a couple of quirks
The system performs a variety of functions that are helpful for a small business. Each phone has its individual mailbox. You can have a receptionist answer, or when he or she is not there, you can switch to the "auto attendant" that will direct callers to a company directory and they can select the employee they want to speak with or leave a voice mail.
A Home Phone That I Actually Wanted!
I can make a call using my cellphone line, and make a call using the landline as well at the same time. So you won't be disrupted if someone clicks in.
The speaker quality and phone reception were fine, in my wi-fi/wireless surround sound/million wireless devices condo.
Excllent product all around
I will confess up front that I don't like AT&T and their monopolistic ways, and would happily have paid $50 more for somebody else's cordless phone. But Consumer Reports said the audio quality on this one was better than any of the others they tested. That was important to me; our previous cordless (from GE) sounded worse than a cheap cellphone, and we were forever saying, "What?"
So I bought it, secretly hoping I would find some reason to hate it and send it back.
Great if your not expanding the handsets
The corded phone is beautiful; it looks great on the desk. The base station is easy to use and set up is a breeze. Call quality is good and signal strength with the wireless handset is very good.
The wireless hand set is not so easy to use. It has a very poor display with an equally poor resolution. Simple everyday features are hard to find. You will not be able to pick up this wireless handset and use it with any intinuity.
I also purchased six extra handsets at the same time.
