Great easy to use phone
We bought this phone because of a glowing report in Consumers Reports, before we read the negative reviews on Amazon.com. We are glad that we bought the phone. Set-up was very easy, straight forward and intuitive; even for us seniors. Communication between the base and the two handsets is excellent. The answering machine on the base works as expected and the handsets have blinking lights to signal voice messages. The phone works without problems with a shared faxline.
Good phone...with some quirks
the cordless handsets do not "sit" in the bases with "certainty". you just kind of place them there...and sometimes they almost fall out. Small issue, but one that could easily be improved with future models.
These quirks are minor and overall, I am pleased with the phone.
Long battery life
The phone itself is great, boasting things like a long battery life (300 hours, around 160 when talking) on a single charge, a Dual Lit Keypad, four-way conference calling, a full hour of record time, Digital answering machine, and so on. The "Phone use features" include: Caller ID, Call Waiting, Intercom, LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screen, Handset location, Speakerphone, and an answering system. Not bad, not bad at all.
The BEST office phones
I am a doctor and have a very busy office. Our phones get a real workout. I have owned the TMC E 4000 phones for many years. I will never own anything else. The are built like a tank and perfectly reliable [not a SINGLE problem].
When I needed to upgrade a phone to include a 2 line answering capability, the choice was a "no brainer" and I ordered the EV4500.
As usual, the perfect phone.
We used a previous version of this system for years. This much improved system handles even the tiny wishes we had from the old system. Music on hold, speaker phones, great range, etc. I actually bought multiple systems and tried them in my offices. I returned them all except the Panasonic.
Works great for us
We have 4 lines and it was great to not need an expensive exchange. The phones have worked great. Minor issues: Even with batteries they need to be reprogrammed after power outages. Not too much of a problem since most are on UPS. I have a spare phone, when one has the very occasional (think annual) glitch I usually just swap out the extra. They seem to heal by sitting in my cabinet for a few months (mostly kidding). I just recently had the first actual failure.
