Great telephone for the elderly
This phone works great for my elderly aunt. The ring is loud and the programmable buttons are easy for her to use. Everyone at her nursing home wanted to know where we got it. We had it sent to our home in VA, programmed it and then sent it off to her in OH. It works great and even though she is very hard of hearing we can communicate with her and she can hear the phone ring,.
Corded Phone very ELDERLY FRIENDLY and I like it too!
The HUGE buttons seem funny at first because they slow down the finger a bit...but for people who are not in a hurry it's a fine phone! Originally we bought this for my mother but she is now in a wheelchair and prefers her wireless so she can take it wherever she in her chair. Her wireless phone is also a Clarity Brand Phone which I should also write a review for because it is also a fabulous phone for Elderly or anyone wanting an old fashioned, larger wireless phone!
Good product that lacks speakerphone could be improved
For a confused person with poor vision, hearing and memory, this is a useful phone to have. However, it lacks a speakerphone. In addition, for the target market, announcement of the key pressed and braille markings would be useful additions. Control buttons on bottom row are not intuitive enough for the target market.
This phone works as intended
This is a second phone I purchased for my MIL. The first phone still works, I just wanted her to have an extra one so she can leave one at home and take one with her while visiting her relatives so she would always have a phone to use. The programmable numbers is very helpful and the big number buttons certainly is very helpful to old eyes. Would be nice if it has an answering machine built in that can take TTY messages from the relay operator.
Okay phone but missing some critical features
I bought this phone for an elderly relative who is both hard of hearing and has memory issues. While the phone does amplify adequately, it requires you to push a boost button every time you receive a call in order to turn on the amplification. This was not acceptable in our situation nor was it mentioned in the description of the product.
Yet another disappointment
This phone is designed for hearing/vision impaired people. It has an easily accesible boost button which needs to be pushed to amplify incoming calls. That works well, and when I could hear the person on the other end the volume was good and tone fairly clear, but the phone kept cutting out on me. People receiving my calls can hear me, but the phone was not working on my end. The phone requires four AA batteries.
Clarity Amplified Big Button Phone JV-35
We ordered this phone for an elderly parent. It seems to be working well. No lighted dial and as far as we can tell - no hands free use. We are satisfied - the unit seems substantial enough. We were just looking for a basic phone that amplified well and this seems to do that adequately. Our parent isn't able to handle a lot of bells and whistles - so, this works fine for her.
