The range with 6.0 is double the old 2.4mhz cordless phone system. And the ability to buy $30 range extenders (up to two) makes range issues a thing of the past. The new features like Bluetooth pairing with up to two cell phones (only one can be used at a time) is VERY COOL and works well. The only reason this is a 4 star review and not a 5 star review is the instruction manual on this Bluetooth pairing feature is TERRIBLE!!
Easy to set up and great volume control!
We needed a few more handsets to place around the house. Also needed phones with good volume control. We just love everything about these. Setup was simple simple simple! Volume controls are on each handset, in a great place- just above your thumb as you pick up the handset. Each handset has an indicator light, so you can tell in any room if there is a message - AND you can access the message, change the recording, etc.. all from EACH HANDSET.
Works like a charm
This phone goes together with another phone I bought at Wal-mart; it does not work by itself. Wal-mart didn't even sell this accessory phone, so I found it on Amazon with no tax and no shipping - sweet. It is easy to register once you place it on the original set's base. Then you can move it anywhere in the house. Caution - before ordering these accessory phones, get the compatible model #'s right. It is easy to order the wrong model.
Excellent phones at a remarkable price
There are a lot of other features that we do not use, like the Voice Caller ID that announces who is calling (we don't need the extra noise!) but they worked fine (until I turned this off). So I have to say that this is a great phone system overall. Light weight, easy to use, easy to read - just excellent!
Possible battery fix
I want to chime in with a possible fix for the battery issues some people are experiencing. First, I'm very happy with the phones and recommend them to anyone looking for a simple cordless phone with not too many bells and whistles. I did, however, have the same battery experience as a couple other people. When I first set the phones up, one of them would immediately drop from 4 to 3 bars of battery life when removed from the charger which was rather annoying.
Very Nice, Decent Audio, No Headset Jack
The phone system works very well. The phone and buttons have a very nice feel, enough ring tone selections, great feel to the buttons, and clear audio. What I miss most is a headset jack. But it seems few systems have headset jacks anymore. In its place is a press to talk option (on this system). In its place on more expensive models is bluetooth support (but not this one). The speakerphone works great which I use for my home office in lieu of a headset. The equalizer button is nice too.
I replaced an AT&t phone with this one because I wanted three handsets and I also wanted it to announce the calls. This one does all that and very well. It is very clear and has good range. The buttons are large and easy to use. It's well lit when it's on and easy to program. I can't think of anything I don't like about it. I don't use the answering system because I don't need it.
A Home Phone That I Actually Wanted!
I can make a call using my cellphone line, and make a call using the landline as well at the same time. So you won't be disrupted if someone clicks in.
The speaker quality and phone reception were fine, in my wi-fi/wireless surround sound/million wireless devices condo.
