Quality prints, Affordable, Good blend of features
The OKI MB471/MB471w are very competitively priced for what's being offered: four devices, print speeds up to 35 ppm, front side USB, a 3.5-inch LCD, built-in networking and automatic print, scan, copy and fax duplexing. When I searched some of the main competitors in this class - Brother, HP and Samsung - only Brother beat OKI on price but they didn't offer the RADF.
Pay Attention to the Dimensions and Weight
This is my first color laser printer. I'm accustomed to black/white laser jets (HP, Dell, Konica Minolta). I was a little astonished by the size and weight of this machine. The picture is not a good perception of the scale/size of the printer. The printer weighs nearly 50lbs and the box is very, very large.
The size and weight aside, this printer is amazing for the price. My only complaint is that when I try to print photo quality (2400dpi), it says it needs more memory.
Great value and performs as expected
This device is fast, durable, prints high quality (options between speed priority 300 dpi, quality priority 300 dpi, and quality priority 600 dpi). It performs exactly as expected. Consumables are a little expensive (the continuous tape (DK-2205) costs more than $20), but there are a lot of generic products meant to work with it. All DK labels compatible with the Brother QL-570 are also compatible with this device -- the QL-700 is faster than the QL-570.
The Oki MC361 is inexpensive to operateâ??with discounted supplies. Combine that with its speed, excellent text, and tolerable graphics, and you have a very affordable workgroup printer. Network scanning setup is not for the technically faint of heart, however. If you need more speed, check out the faster but otherwise nearly identical Oki MC561.
Output quality is very good, "laser-like" as Brother insists.
This color LED printer has built-in wireless which helps justify its $500 cost. In terms of performance, it's adequate if unsurprising, with good output and decent print speeds even across a network and an interface that allows easy configuration.
