I have had this printer for about a month and really really like it. I bought it to replace a Brother (click on my name to read my review on that one). Although my previous multi-function device worked well, this Canon has the following improvements: Scans in duplex, has an ID-card photocopy function that I love, and MOST OF ALL IT IS QUIET. I do not use the fax feature. I have a PC with windows 7 and I was able to install it easily.
Much like the US-only Canon MF4880dw, the MF4890dw delivers a well-balanced set of features. The bonus here is that the MF4890dw also offers a duplexing ADF, so you can scan, copy, or fax duplex documents. This effort from Canon is a fast performer which produces decent quality results, and it's well worth the asking price.
Best Color Laser On the Market
This Laser printer by Canon is awesome. It is fast, quiet, has energy saver on it which is a plus. I can take 2 separate sheets that is printed on one side and put them into the laser printer and have them print both pages on 1 sheet front and back to save paper. I love that option. The cartridges are easy to replace. And was easier to setup than I thought. I did not use the disks included, I went to the website and choose the latest drivers, for my iMac I use.
Wow! Magnificent color at a great price!
Finally decided to upgrade to laser color for my small business. Very important I had excellent quality color for presentations and creating brochures. Wow, this little guy fit the bill perfectly, my only issues is once I put in on the wifi, now everyone wants to use because of the beautiful color quality. I fixed that issue, but just setting it up as a local printer to my laptop with USB connection. Still learning some of the features, but super impressed.
Great home-business machine
Bought the Canon laser printer-scanner-copier-fax for its multiple functions, all of which are well-used for home business. Compact design and quality printing. Initial problem was that Canon did not have Mac drivers and their rep said "expected before the end of the year" (purchased in September)! However, in fact, Mac drivers were up in 10 days, prior to our returning it. Had to call Canon support to set-up -- it was straightforward, but trick is that you must hit "OK" at every step.
Best all-in-one, great price
This is the copier I've been waiting for. I am a physician in private practice. I have been using copiers for 50+ years. I have been purchasing my own copiers for 43 years. I've used thermal copiers, inkjet copiers, and laser copiers. All have had major drawbacks, ranging through cost of supplies, cost of repairs, poor quality copies, lines, burning...
This copier has all the features you would want in a copier, and they are easily accessible once TFM is mastered.
Great Fax Machine!
I visited many office supply stores and checked what type of fax machine they used to send commercial faxes. Most of these fax transmission stores used the Canon FAXPHONE L190 Monochrome Laser Fax Machine Duplex Printer. So I figured out if it was good for them it would be good for me and my little business. The machine was inexpensive too. The operation is speedy and will also print well when the other printers are tied up.
Great buy, one caveat
I've only just hooked up this printer, so I can't comment on longevity, etc. I bought it primarily as a replacement for an old Sharp copier that I had, but the Canon is also connected as a backup printer.
As a printer, it is very fast and the print quality seems to be excellent, but as a copier, it has one deficiency: the glass size is A4, which is just slightly larger than letter size.
Fantastic for Small Business Use
This is the second Canon multi-function machine that I have purchased and I just love them. My first one was the Imageclass MF6590 and it served my busy apartment leasing office very well for 4 years. The only problem was that it could not be connected to a network of computers. My new Imageclass D1350 can be connected to a network and the speed and quality of the printer, scanner, fax machine and copier is wonderful for my use.
