Great little printer!!
After reading almost all the reviews on Amazon to buy a new photo printer, I decided on The Selphy. My mom also has it and I liked the quality of the prints. I have had 2 photo printers, a HP Photosmart (LOVED IT!!) and a Kodak all in one (HATE IT!!) All I wanted was a photo printer! Not a fax, copier, scanner, printer. Who would have thought that would be so difficult? The Photosmart was the best printer for quality. The Kodak, a HUGE let down. Lines through my photos, really?
USB and PictBridge sockets
The Canon SELPHY CP900 is a dye sublimation printer come of age, with direct wireless connection to mobile devices, and quick and easy print from PC or via its self-contained controls. Running costs are high compared with typical inkjets, but print quality is generally good and photos are dry and more robust, even straight out of the printer.
Does exactly what Canon says it will do.
To sum up, this machine appears to be an excellent choice for anyone who wants 4 x 6 prints. It works exactly as Canon says it does. It works well. It makes very good prints. But I think the per-print cost to be a bit high, so I knocked the rating down to four stars.
The Canon Selphy CP800 is Canon's most compact as well as cheapest dedicated photo printer in the Selphy lineup as of this writing. It's extremely portable and easy to use with a built-in memory card reader, PictBridge/USB port and the optional battery pack. Not to mention the photo quality is excellent and versatile thanks to easily added clip art, frames and speech bubbles.
High quality photos
Priced at about $80, the Canon Selphy CP800 is a compact photo printer that prints high quality photos quickly and without fuss. It is also easy to use, with the process of printing photos from memory cards being simple and straightforward. It is not perfect, though; the screen is small and rather grainy compared with other printers.
great mobile printer or first printer
The inclusion of both paper and ink in a single cartridge is a sensible idea given the overall goal of the ES40 to be a portable printer that could fit into your backpack. A great first printer for the kids that has a lot of connection options for those needing a reliable mobile printing solution. More options are needed if you are looking for a home printing solution.
Canon photo printers are typically excellent, and the Selphy CP790--the high end of the Selphy line--is no exception. It's also at the high end in terms of price for a photo printer, and worth it. That's not just because the printed photo quality is excellent, or that it's very easy to set up and use, but also because it's the coolest-looking and, perhaps with the exception of the Polaroid PoGo , the most fun, photo printer I've tried.
Overall a very bold move on Canon to provide the consumer market with a unique design and color for a portable printer. The Canon Selphy CP790 will perform good color prints at a print resolution up to 300 x 300 dpi. Given its very unattractive color and design shape there is always the green bucket with handle to hide it in when on the move. Perhaps a good portable printer for the kids, but is in desperate need of a design makeover.
