Supports usefully bright, high-quality image in the most portable format
As should be obvious, the AAXA P2 Jr. offers a lot to like. Its got excellent data image quality, good video quality, good connectivity, plus the ability to read files directly from USB keys and microSD cards. It also helps a lot that it doesn't show many rainbow artifacts. It fits in a shirt pocket and has ample brightness for the size, particularly when using AC power.
Picture quality was not as sharp and detailed
For $300, the 3M Streaming Projector powered by Roku is fun and reasonably priced. The Roku Streaming Stick, or the "Rock You" as my kids say, is the projector's main selling point. When considering this product, you must decide what you expect from it. This sturdy device is best for a "driveway" movie with the kids or an end-of-the-summer pool party. It does not belong in a business meeting, nor would you want to use it for any kind of serious home theater movie viewing.
Impressive for the price! Projects my iPad!
My ONLY complaint is that the sound from the projector is too quiet. For something that is supposed to be able to project a large image, one might expect that the sound would be comparable. It is not. In fact, the projector has a cooling fan that runs all the time, and I can actually hear the fan over the audio. Fortunately, there is a 3.5mm jack that can be used for external speakers or for headphones.
Don't expect to be blown away, and you won't be disappointed.
Fantastically cool product
I review a lot of projectors, and rarely am I as amused or excited by them as I am by the 3M Streaming Projector. It's so. . . neat. It can't replace a "real" projector, of course, but for something portable, it's awesome. Tether it wirelessly with your phone (presuming your phone can act as a wireless hub), and you could have big-screen streaming video just about anywhere. How cool is that?
Built-in rechargeable battery, Solid build quality
The 3M streaming projector powered by Roku is a huge hit, as far as we're concerned. Both the projector and the Roku streaming stick that comes with it are multitaskers in that they can each be used with other devices around the home. And considering that a Roku streaming stick sells for $100 on its own, the $300 price for this combo is more than palatable; it's down-right appetizing.
If you're projecting at any kind of angle your frame isn't going to be perfectly rectangular
No. It's a fun novelty, but for most people $300 is too expensive for a novelty. It's clear to see how future generations of this product will be awesome, and we can't wait to see how it evolves. But for now it's more of a proof-of-concept.
Features dual-band Wi-Fi for movie watching without any hiccups
A price of $299 may seem steep for a device this small that also requires users to subscribe to third-party services to get at its intended functionality, but it's cheaper than some of the better pico projectors - and it comes with a Roku Streaming Stick that can be used separately (with caveats).
The 3M Streaming Projector is a really neat gadget for users who valuable portability and who aren't too bothered by its poor battery life.
Extremely Light and Portable, High input options
The 3M Streaming Projector is perfect for any home cinema fan looking to bring the world of streaming media on to their wall. If you love projecting movies and TV shows to get that home cinema experience let the 3M Streaming Projector bring you hours upon hours of entertainment.
Pop the Roku Stick out and use it in any compatible TV
It's really exciting for the future--here is a gadget that's legitimately good, at a very low price. Imagine the next one! If they can keep the price at $300 but bump the resolution and the lumen count for the next generation, it could be a must-buy.
A great projector
I purchased this projector to be used at functions for a social club. We generally show DVD's in a room that is only slightly darkened, with the projector about 15' from the screen, and club members view it from 20 - 50 ft away. So we needed a projector with some muscle to get an image large and crisp enough to be enjoyed from the back of the room. I researched lots of projectors, and this one seemed to offer the best quality for a reasonable price.
Picture was clear
At a retail price of $230, this projector is worthy of consideration if you are not planning on upgrading to the new iPhone in the near future. It offers a clear picture with some added flare and attitude. This consumer has a shiny new gadget riding shotgun to her beloved iPhone 4s.
Reasonably good battery life
The AAXA P3 is a capable representative of its breed, with strong points that include both data and image quality. The lower than promised brightness is disappointing, but the P3 is brighter than earlier generation pico projectors, and even those projectors were bright enough to be useful.
Very much on the plus side is the P3's portability, partly due to the small size and low weight.
This projector's focus lever makes it easy to get the best picture
The P3 Pico Projector offers a good picture for its size and is truly lightweight and portable.
This projector is a great item for watching movies or showing photos to other people. The picture quality is great and the item is very easy to use. The only downside is that the volume of the speaker is very low, however this is easily overcome using a blue tooth speaker. The projector will also get very hot after about 2 hours of use and cause the phone to overheat.
Very good product, excellent value
It performs extremely well. In a silent room, you will hear a very low sound of fan blowing. When a movie sound is on, you won't notice any sound from the fan. When it is dark outside, the picture is very clear, though I have to say it is my first projector, so have no parameter to compare against. But the clarity is very good to me. It can be hooked with media player, cable receiver, PC through HDMI, RCA cable, VGA cable, S video cable. It has a USB plug for picture viewing.
Nifty 3D images
I have seen 3D at the movie theater, and loved the images popping off the screen. I've even looked at TV's that boasted 3-D operation, but with them you HAD to have glasses to watch TV, even. But to watch it at home on your own projector is just great. I kept my glasses from the last time I went to the theater, and with this projector and these glasses, I have great 3-D movies in my own home. Its great!
Higher resolution than some Picos with SVGA 858x480
This projector is definitely one of the more impressive pico projectors. To date, we've only seen one other we think is overall better (Optoma's PK320) which is why we gave that pico projector our Hot Product Award, and this P4-X our "almost as good" Special Interest award.
Ultimately it will come down to which features you want/need, including brightness, battery life, picture quality, physical size and weight, ease of use.
