Money well spent
When we decided to upgrade our washer I scoured the internet looking at review after review for all different brands and types. Immediately I realized that front loaders were out. Why should you have to perform extra cleaning to your washer so it doesn't smell like mildew? So after cutting the field in half, I wanted large capacity, energy and water efficiency and last but most important cleaning effectiveness. So why did I pick this particular model?
A consistently top-rated model for me, the LG WT5070CW is this year's version of a washer I have continually followed and given top honors to. It is a top-loading model, but is just as energy efficient (3-5 gallons per load) as any front-loader. It closes the efficiency gap while still offering the class and convenience of a top-loader. 4.7 cu. ft. of space makes it one of the largest on the market, and 12 customizable wash cycles give you every available option.
Good looking machine, doesn't wash clothing
We used this machine for 6 months, the problem is that it doesn't provide enough water to clean the clothing. Many white items we washed such as polo shirts, table cloths etc, came out with brown stains on them as there wasn't enough water to clean them. We put the cleaner tablet into the machine and even had a Maytag person check it out but it didn't help. We returned the machine and got one that has enough water to clean the clothing.
Excellent user interface requires little thought
Like a reality TV show's production value and plot, the Maytag Bravos XL MVWB750YW's performance ranges from average to disappointing. It's large interior means that it's a fine washing machine if you need to get a lot of clothes done at once, but most consumers would prefer a machine that does a better job removing stains and conserving resources.
Good mid-priced point
The Maytag MVWB750YW is a excellent mid-range blend of the higher-end Bravos series and the lower-end Centennial series. It offers most of the same features and energy-saving settings, while still coming in around $800 - a good mid-priced point for H.E. appliances. 4.6 cu. ft of space combine with 11 wash cycles and 3 different energy-saving settings to provide a very well-rated Energy Star model.
Great Product! Cleans Great! Great options
This washer and dryer set is by far the best I have ever seen or owned. I do less laundry now because the wash machine can handle such a huge load! Of course this huge load of laundry easily stuffs into the over capacity dryer and drys fast! Saves energy and detergent because you do less laundry. Although, you still have to fold the same amount of clothes!! ;) I would highly recommend this washer and dryer set to anyone.
Good washing performance
The Electrolux EIFLS55IIW is a well priced($740) front loading washing machine which offers strong cleaning performance. Washing does involve more wear and tear on clothes than other washers, though, and the door is very awkward to open and close.
Spectacularly Bad Washing Machine, Laughably Bad Customer Support
Whirlpool has created a monster with the WFC7500VW but refuses to acknowledge its shortcomings. The washer is glitchy and temperamental. It requires an extremely detailed series of steps performed in a specific order (as well as a hope and a prayer) before it will do a load of washing. It constantly throws error codes and then seems to fix itself with no intervention, leaving me with a half-washed load of soaking wet clothes. My machine died when it was three years old.
Breakdowns of various types frequently reported
The Whirlpool WFC7500VW is the most compact, and affordable front load washing machine offered by Whirlpool. The overall size of this machine is 23.5" x 33.5" x 24" (W x H x D) making this a great space saver, taking up as little floor space as possible.
However, it's internal 2.3 cu. ft. I.E.C. capacity provides plenty of room for your laundry. It can be installed under a countertop, freestanding or stacked with the matching dryer.
Good Riddance to Front Loader
This is a great washing machine! I've owned this washing machine for several months now, and I can't believe how clean it gets my laundry! It's not necessary to pretreat stains anymore, which is a real time saver; even old stains are now gone. With my front loader I pretreated everything and the stain was usually still there when the load was done.
I like the fact that it is manufactured in Wisconsin, USA!!
Ultra-large capacity and superior cold washing ability
For those seeking a modern top-loading washer that has cutting edge cleaning features and can wash more clothes with fewer loads, there is the LG WT4870CW Ultra Large Capacity Washer with Staincare Technology.
Among the main reasons for this is its durable and efficient design, thanks to its direct drive motor, ultra-large capacity and superior cold washing ability. But we also like it for being very innovative, with its self-diagnosing feature and anti-vibration system.
