I bought this machine together with its matching electrical dryer. I have had it for two weeks. They both look so great, and they have a lot of functions. The washer operates very quitely even at full spin. It takes such a big load, I washed 37 T-shirts and 30 briefs plus a few other items in one load, and there was room for more. One of the nice features is that you can choose how many times you want to rinse.
Wash performance doesn't suffer with speedier cycles
Overall, the LG WM3470HVA's wash performance was only slightly above average, with some underperforming cycles dragging down the LG's cumulative scores. However, the 39 minute Cottons/Normal cycle managed to get clothes very clean, very fast. That alone is reason enough to put this washer on your shopping list.
Clothes come out really clean
I needed a new washing machine and this one had good reviews. And it works well. What I was not expecting is to get any use from the 'steam' setting. This is an add-on to some of the cycles, where it uses small amounts of steam to enhance the cleaning. My nice towels had some dirt stains on them, which I had tried many ways of removing (by hand, rubbing in various types of detergents, laundry boosters, ...). Figuring it wouldn't hurt to try, I put these in and selected the steam setting.
Excellent steam feature
The LG WM2650HWA manages to deliver an excellent steam feature while keeping costs low - around the $900 mark. It's not just price consideration that earns it top honors however, but the combination of many features into one machine. This front-loader is incredibly energy-efficient, using an average of 5 gallons of water per load.
Low Cost to Run
The LG WM2250CW is a mid tier washing machine. After all the test results came in, we didn't feel impressed or disappointed. The washing performance was less than average given the price point. When it first came out, had an MSRP of $799, but we were able see units available for as low as $717. However, the WM2250CW makes up for this shortfall by being slightly ahead of the pack in efficiency.
Money well spent
When we decided to upgrade our washer I scoured the internet looking at review after review for all different brands and types. Immediately I realized that front loaders were out. Why should you have to perform extra cleaning to your washer so it doesn't smell like mildew? So after cutting the field in half, I wanted large capacity, energy and water efficiency and last but most important cleaning effectiveness. So why did I pick this particular model?
A consistently top-rated model for me, the LG WT5070CW is this year's version of a washer I have continually followed and given top honors to. It is a top-loading model, but is just as energy efficient (3-5 gallons per load) as any front-loader. It closes the efficiency gap while still offering the class and convenience of a top-loader. 4.7 cu. ft. of space makes it one of the largest on the market, and 12 customizable wash cycles give you every available option.
Overall decent machine
Make sure you remove the 4 bolts with the rubber bushing on the back put there for shipping before washing clothes otherwise you will watch the machine dance down the hallway when it starts the spin cycle. Also where the water lines connect on the back they are plastic and are very hard to get the hoses to seat and seal properly. It still shakes a little on spin cycle but just make sure you have the legs adjusted right.
Auto load balance, made for a better clean
The WT1101CW is a fairly balanced machine. It has good performance, but poor efficiency. To put that in real world terms, we estimate that the yearly running cost of the LG WT1101CW to be around $60. If pay the MSRP and own the machie for ten years, then the cost of this machine has doubled. However, what you lose in water you will gain in time. A 35 minute Speed Wash cycle outperformed all of its brethren. Overall, we can say that the LG's WT1101CW is a comptent machine.
Expensive piece of Trash
I purchased an LG Washer WM2655HVA 4 months from Home Depot. A couple of months after purchasing the Washer we started facing issues with this Washer when it started giving an LE indicator ( indicating heavy load ). Though the load of clothes was average, we kept getting this message results every other day till we called LG Customer Representative who told us to reduce the load. Yesterday I put only 1 bedsheet for washing & we again faced the issue for 2 hrs 50 mins.
Easy detergent dispenser
This excellent graphite steel washer from LG combines the best of high efficiency with steam technology to form a truly worthy appliance. 3.6 cu. Ft. of capacity, 9 wash cycles, 5 temperature settings, anti-vibration, anti-noise, and an easy detergent dispenser are just some of the features this model boasts. Its easy operation is one of the keys to its highly-rated success. The steam function, although not top in its field, is excellent and translates well to your laundry.
LoDecibel Quiet Operation
One the one hand, this is the best appliance I've ever purchased: space- saving, efficient, and a heavenly luxury compared to the alternative which is an inconvenient and pricey wash and fold. If you're in a similar situation, I predict you'll absolutely love this machine for what it does to your routine. On the other hand, there are some considerable flaws, mostly the noise level, slow drying, and the vibration issue.
Extreamly poor service
Purchased LG washer on 02Dec12, when it was delivered it did not work. The first technician that diagnosed it could not figure out what was wrong and stated that it needs to be sent back. LG sent out another technician who stated that a part needs to be backordered, the part never came in and was backordered again.
Can be used without a washer/dryer hookup
The LG WM3987HW is an all-in-one washer-dryer combo that combines a front-loading washing machine with a condensing dryer. It's about the same size as a regular front-loading washer (3.6 cubic feet) and can wash a full load of laundry, but can only dry about half that amount at once. The dryer doesn't vent, so this washer-dryer combo can be used in small spaces without washer/dryer hookups. However, the ventless dryer does make drying much more time-consuming -- up to four hours.
