Awesome washer....Love it!!!
I've had this washer since early December 2011 when it first became available in the United States. It has all the features I need: narrow width, low height, controls in the front, not in the back (for a shorter reach), hot and cold water standard washer hook-ups, stainless steel tub, a bi-fold lid (because I have it right under my stacked clothes dryer and have limited vertical clearance) and most importantly an agitator.
We love this machine. We live in New York City in a 5th floor walk-up apartment, and this machine has been great for us. We feel foolish for not having bought this a lot sooner.
Setting it up is easy. You just affix the dampener on the bottom and then connect the hoses. It took about 20 minutes from the time of opening the box to having it ready for a test run. Have pliers, a wrench, a screwdriver, and a level handy.
Lifts stains better than some full-size machines
If you hate lugging clothes to a laundry room or laundromat, consider making a small investment in the Haier HLP23E. It's easily found on sale for under $250, and it does a really good job lifting stains. Expect to notice its presence on your electric and water bills, however.
All features and capabilities fully loaded
The Haier HLP23E has gotten some attention in 2012 owing to some top ratings around the net. Although this reviewer feels it cuts just a little too close to the price of a full-sized washer, there is no denying that it's a quality model. With a 1.5 cu. ft. capacity, easy sink connector, LED display, 4 wash cycles, and 6 programs, it is essentially just a tiny washer, with all features and capabilities fully loaded.
No frills top-loader
The Whirlpool WTW4800XQ is another model that skims along around the $450 price range. 3.4 cu. ft. of capacity, 8 cycles, and 4 temperature settings outline this no frills top-loader. Excellent user reviews accompany this model, and paint it as a well-built option for those looking to save a few dollars. A quiet spin technology does a little to dampen sound.
