I love my little washing machine
My little machine arrived this afternoon - and I've been doing laundry like crazy since! It works like a dream. The clothes come out very clean, in no time at all - I've only used 5-6 minutes agitation per wash, and that has been more than sufficient. The little spinner is small, true, but it works very well. Generally you can do one load in two spins, so it's not that bad.
Plenty of customizable goodies
Get those Olympic logo socks over here, Usain Bolt, because the Samsung WF457ARGSGR/AA has one of the fastest Normal cycles we've seen, and the overall performance in terms of stain removal is satisfactory across the board. This MSRP $1,799 washer ($1,530 on sale), while certainly not the top contender, does a solid job nonetheless. We only wish that it was less expensive to run, more competitive in terms of clothes handling, and a bit better with water retention.
Customer care service is very poor
I purchased the washer along about 3 months ago and more than for few weeks now I am having a trouble with it. The washer stops working sometimes on the middle of the cycle and sometimes on the beginning during putting water in. I called Electrolux and they gave me two service providers' numbers which were so hard to get hold of. Finally technician from one company came to see it and the machine was working fine at that time; therefore, he said there is nothing wrong with it.
Pretty compact and it dries quickly
Though it's attached to a washer, the $1200 Maytag MET3800XW Dryer has good enough drying performance that it can compete against standalone washers.
It lacks any customizable features or drying cycle options, and its high-up placement means some users may find it hard to lift wet laundry, but its small footprint makes it ideal for homes that are short on space and its overall solid performance makes it a real bargain-buy competitor too.
LoDecibel Quiet Operation
One the one hand, this is the best appliance I've ever purchased: space- saving, efficient, and a heavenly luxury compared to the alternative which is an inconvenient and pricey wash and fold. If you're in a similar situation, I predict you'll absolutely love this machine for what it does to your routine. On the other hand, there are some considerable flaws, mostly the noise level, slow drying, and the vibration issue.
Dryer died after 10 months
The dryer side of this washer dryer combo died after 10 months. The service man they sent didn't have any parts but got it working. 2 months later, the dryer stopped again... unfortunately out of warranty. Not going to fight for a week (again) to get service out.
I'll be staying away from the Haier brand and looking for a better quality washer/dryer combo.
Company does not stand behind their products
We had one of these combos with a four year warranty. It broke down twice within the first year, each time Thor sent a repair person after we made several calls and waited several weeks to get it fixed. It was determined that there was an imbalance in the machine that was causing it to wear out more frequently, but the company did not offer to replace the machine.
Can be used without a washer/dryer hookup
The LG WM3987HW is an all-in-one washer-dryer combo that combines a front-loading washing machine with a condensing dryer. It's about the same size as a regular front-loading washer (3.6 cubic feet) and can wash a full load of laundry, but can only dry about half that amount at once. The dryer doesn't vent, so this washer-dryer combo can be used in small spaces without washer/dryer hookups. However, the ventless dryer does make drying much more time-consuming -- up to four hours.
