Versatile connectivity options, Good Wi-Fi performance, Good price
With a good range of features for a modest price, the TP-Link TD-W8970 is a best buy. It features an ADSL2+ modem, 300Mbps Wi-Fi (albeit not dual-band), Gigabit Ethernet, and it even has support for 3G. Its interface is clean and quick easy to use for the most part. Our only issue is with the USB storage ports, which could use better functionality.
Best at this Price
Just received this product and am very impressed, very easy to set up, many preloaded settings for all major ISP, have tried tp link 8968 and an expensive Netgear neither could achieve the internet download speed of this router, the Netgear was more than 4mbs slower. It looks a million dollars too very smart,if the ariels put you off you can point them downwards so you don't see them,at this price don't waste your time looking elsewhere.
Good little travel router
Overall, it is a very versatile and certainly compact device, and your experience may be very different depending on how you use it. As an access or router, simply to give you a wireless signal for devices without an Ethernet port, it will do everything you expect, except, perhaps a great wireless range, as the antenna is somewhat limited.
Great price, Tiny, Many features
While most of us won't see such drastic cuts in download speeds, it may be worth considering a more robust router for your permanent home connection, especially if you have a very fast broadband connection.
For those on more modest connections, and certainly for those who want to take a router with them as they travel, then the TP-Link 150Mbps Wireless N Nano Router is an excellent device.
Great portable travel router
This little portable router worked perfectly, with the setup minimal. Only thing missing was a case or pouch to carry it.
I went to Las Vegas recently with my Nexus 7 tablet, which does not have a wired ethernet port. I also assumed that some of the hotels in Vegas still had wired internet connections in their rooms. My stay was at the Monte Carlo, which only has the wired connection in the room.
Useful and portable tool for sharing a 3G web connection
TP-Link's TL-MR3020 is a useful and portable tool for sharing a 3G web connection, and it offers very good value in comparison to similar products. We found consistent and reliable performance in our tests. The router isn't locked to a mobile network, although it's worth checking that your USB dongle is compatible before you buy by going to the TP-Link website and searching for 3G/3.75G USB Modem Compatibility List.
