Wireless bad/Ethernet good
Of all the modems I've ever used this one is a challenge. The Ethernet side of it is great. It trains up and runs well. The internet comes right up. The wireless side is another story. Of the three wireless devices in this house only one would connect. I disabled the WPS and run only WPA. Double and triple checked the security phrase. Still can't connect wirelessly. Checked the power level and verified the security phrase in the modem GUI. Everything was correct.
It might not look it, but Zyxel's NBG4615 is a powerhouse of a router. Although it lacks the ability to create 5GHz wireless networks, there are few other desirable features missing from it. Its performance is among the best we've seen from a router which costs less than £100 and should be worth considering for anyone who needs to upgrade.
Performance is very low compared to others
It is a waste to compare the router with other Wireless N routers as most of them are dual stream routers. The router performs well in short range test offering a transfer speed of 37.3 Mbps meaning that 500MB can be transferred in just above 100 seconds. This speed can be achieved only in short range whereas in long range with a distance of 100 feet, it scores only 17.4 Mbps. The router's range is however more than other single stream routers with 220 feet.
