While the Nikon D60 is a good bargain in itself, you may also want to check out the Canon EOS 500D Rebel T1i. Both have excellent imaging performance but the latter takes a huge lead in the competition when it comes to video function as the EOS 500D captures videos in full high-definition. Its ISO performance is also more impressive as noise levels are effectively minimized through its built-in four-level high ISO speed noise reduction system and DIGIC 4 image processor.
If you opt for another Nikon model, the Nikon D90 is a good alternative. Although it's more expensive than the D60, it captures exceptionally high-definition videos and clean images even at higher settings which explains the price difference.
