bought this mainly for business presentations and projecting my laptop screen and have to say I am very pleased with the performance of this product. The unit is very light and compact and the brightness is more than enough even in a fairly bright room. When I was researching units I got confused about the difference between native resolution and input resolution. Basically I thought that if the native resolution was 800x600 then I would have to change my laptop resolution to match it.
Cheap, powerful, and built to last
Overall a top-notch projecter offering HD graphics on a HUGE scale to the average joe on a budget. It seems not only built for perfomance but for longevity also. Maybes it is time you traded your tv in.
Very good image with any supported resolution and good color accuracy
Overall, the Viewsonic PLED-W500 provides good brightness and sharp image for its size, combined with a decent price and a 20,000 hour LED light source. Not so many years ago, its performance would have been good for a home theater projector that was four times as large and three times the price. While we feel that the Acer K330 is a better buy, the Viewsonic PLED-W500 still provides a solid combination of long lamp life, price and performance.
Portable, good-looking and feature-rich
The ViewSonic PLED-W500 is a great little projector. Portable, good-looking and feature-rich it's an ideal accessory for the mobile executive who wants to make a good impression when making presentations. It'll also provide plenty of entertainment at the weekend when switched to Movie mode, although the lack of a zoom function and its low brightness limits its usefulness in this regard.
Cool running LED projector for work and play.
If you don't mind the missing bells and whistles (lens shift, zoom) and can hook the PLED-W500 to a sound system to substitute for the good-enough-for-presentation built in 2W speaker, here's a cracking good entry-level home cinema projector. At a bargain price, too, particularly if you cost in what you're saving on replacement lamps.
