Colour printers make use of toners of various colours typically magenta, cyan, yellow and black and utilize two scanner assemblies as opposed to monochromes which need just one, and are also much more expensive.
Colour printing is comparatively a much more complex process since the slightest misalignment between colours can result in colour fringing or blurring or produce streaking along the edges of coloured regions.
Colour laser printers are best suited for office use with HP and Canon dominating the market.
